Sonntag PhotographyThe Speedzone would host West Side Tire – Dash on the Dirt on Friday night with the Fastrak Late Models joining us for the first of two appearances at the zone this year. Also joining us for the evening was Atlas Tag and Label Company employees. Showers moved through the area early putting some extra moisture into the track.
TOTAL POWER SALES STREET STOCKS
A crazy ending to the night last week was put in the past and the drivers set out to put their car in victory lane. Tim Reichenberger would slip past Nate Gross on lap number four to take the lead with Gross fighting back on the outside. Reichenberger would be joined by Joe Wittman on lap six in a battle for the lead which Wittman would take on lap seven. Wittman would set the pace out front while a battle between Jerry Winkler and Brandon Piatrick was raging for fourth. Back up front Reichenberger found the low groove to his liking and got into a side by side battle with Wittman, taking the lead back on lap twelve. Caution would fly on lap thirteen bringing company to the battle up front. Reichenberger would lead them on the restart with Shawn Haydon moving into second. Justin Jacobson would join the top five on lap sixteen and begin his pursuit of the leaders. Reichenberger would hold them all off to picik up the win with Haydon and Jacobson finishing second and third.

MILLER LITE GRAND NATIONALS
Would Kenny Richards remain undefeated in 2009? That would be the question for everyone entering the night. Richards has simply dominated the field all season and the fans were looking for someone to stop the streak. A lap one caution would almost end Richards night but he narrowly escaped. Jerry Kope would eventually grab the lead after numerous cautions opened the event. It would be Steve Doehling powering to the front following another yellow flag with Jestin Danes in tow. But on lap eight Richards went into a familiar spot..the lead. The focus would turn to a four way battle for second as Richards would build up a straight away lead on lap fourteen. A lap sixteen caution would give Richards a little company. Danes, Doehling and Brian Henry would get one more shot to break the streak. Richards would have none of it and win his fifth in a row. Henry was second and Danes third.

Last Chance Winner: Brian Monday
SPEEDZONE MODIFIEDS
After a caution filled feature prior as the Modifieds sat in the line up shoot, the caution flew before the race would complete a ingle lap. Mike Sandhol would go to the point on lap number one and begin to pull away. Brian Drexler would move to second with Scott Mullen third on lap six. Debris would bring out another yellow flag on lap six with Sandholm holding the point. Drexler would try to get to the lead on the restart to no avail. At the half way point Sandholm and Drexler would go side by side for the lead with Sandholm maintaining his lead at the line. Mike Klenz appeared almost out of nowhere to take second and go after Sandholm. On lap fourteen, caution again would fly for debris. Jeremy Christians would grab second on the restart and begin to challenge for the win. The field would be unable to restart as time would elapse and Mike Sandholm would pick up the win. Christians was second and Mike Klenz third.

Last Chance Winners: Lee Sohns, Charlie Ewald
FASTRAK LATE MODELS
The thirty lap Fastrak feature would see Dan Wanta and Troy Springborn leading the pack to the line. Springborn would pull out to the lead with AJ Diemel challenging. On lap five, Diemel would grab the advantage only to have caution revert to the last completed lap. Diemel would take the lead on the restart and build a three second lead over Brett Swedberg by lap ten. At the halfway point it remained Diemel, Swedberg and Springborn in the top three with Springborn reeling in Swedberg. With ten laps remaining Tom Naeyeart would move into third and begin to track Swedberg. Diemel would cruise to the win with Naeyaert second, Swedberg was third and Springborn fourth.
Heat Winners: Justin Hirt, Joe Rueter
LYNN’S SERVICE CENTER DIRT DEVILS
It would be Chad Schinke showing the way early in the feature event with Jim Rhode giving chase. Rhode would take the lead on lap number three. After another yellow flag Rhode, Steve LeMay and Tim Sheppard would go three wide for the lead with LeMay taking the point. LeMay would begin to pull away at the half way point as the top five separated from the field. Sheppard would slowly cut into the lead of LeMay as laps wound down. Mechanical issues on lap seventeen would send Sheppard to the pits and move Rhode to second. LeMay would cruise to victory with Rhode and Mark Krause in the top three.
Heat Winners: Tim Sheppard, Jim Rhode
Kids Club Kicked off their Points Chase with the Big Wheel Races.... Seems the Big Wheels were not up to the test! As the Green Flag dropped on the first heat... Peddles were flying off, & some calapsed mid way down the track. Jennel and the Girlz are back to the drawing board... Stay tuned! Little Dirt Trackers.
